Flapless @ edi

Flying along merrily this morning and heard Scottish saying the runway was blocked due to a flapless landing and subsequent brake overheat. The A/c needed to be towed from the runway and they were starting to stack the hold.

I never heard the conclusion, anyone familiar with the outcome?

A BMI Embraer 145 overheated its brakes after a flapless landing about mid-day.It was towed off the runway about 20 minutes later followed by four fire engines and passengers disembarked as normal at the gate.No major problem but it did use every single inch of runway !!

Question

Ballpark figure - what would Vref be for a 145 flapless? (Just out of interest).

160 kts, as far as I remember. Did it have thrust reversers?

The 145 doesn't have reversers.

Exclamation

I was hoping to get a factual reply from a 145 driver. It seems, however, that I've managed to get the kids squabbling instead! So, is it 160 kts or not?

THe flapless speed for the 145 is somewhere between 140 and 155 knots , depending on the weight

For comparison, what's the full flap Vref range?

Better still, buy those gorgeous Canadair CRJ 200's - they come complete with thrust reversers and are built better than the cheap brazilian junglejets.

But they COST a lot more - nothing is for free. Besides, EMB-145 is a really nice airplane, though it has some flaws.

Greetings
