CWS B737
Gents/ladies question if I may,
Excerpt from my FCOM autoflight:
When approaching a selected altitude in CWS P with a CMD engage switch
selected, CWS P changes to ALT ACQ. When at the selected altitude, ALT HOLD
engages.
CWS R with a CMD engage switch illuminated can be used to capture a selected
radio course while the VOR/LOC or APP mode is armed. Upon intercepting the
radial or localizer, the F/D and A/P annunciations change from CWS R to
VOR/LOC engaged, and the A/P tracks the selected course.
Question: when flying in CWS pitch with APP mode selected, will, upon intercepting the gs, the F/D and A/P annunciation change from CWS P to GS engaged and the A/P track the gs( for example intercepting the gs from above with CWS P)?
My FCOM suggest that CWS P will only intercept a preselected altitude and CWS R will only intercept a vor/loc course but no mention is made of CWS P intercepting a gs.
I rarely if ever use CWS but I would like to find out the above question.
Thanks in advance!
