No insult intended, Babi - your question is just so general, and it such a huge subject that I couldn't answer it here.

How to fly IFR:

1. Check all notams

1a. Check wx and how big the TS are your going to fly into.

2. Check enroute LSALTS, MSAs, and the height of anything big you could crash into.

2a. Check your EFATO plan

3. Check FOB including IFR reserves. Dont chintz.

4. Check all primary flight instruments and pitot heat before starting engines.

5. Start engines.

6. Check all primary flight instruments again.

7. Taxy onto runway. Check pitot heat on.

8. Take off.

8a. At 200 feet altitude entering the murk, scan like hell!

9. Listen to everything

10. Wait for something to go horribley wrong

11. Hope that nothing goes horribley wrong!
