Thrust lever 1(2) ......... Idle

Hello everyone,

In the back of my mind I seem to remember there was a time when doing ECAM you would be requested to move a thrust lever to ide. This line was then removed from ECAM as the system detected that you had done this.
However once you turned the engine master switch off and cut power to that engines fadec the action line came back up asking for the thrust lever to be brought to idle. The reason being the FADEC no longer had power and couldn't determine the position of the thrust lever anymore.
Can anyone remember what failure that was for or whether is was something that happened on the older gen Airbus?

Had an EFATO during my last simride including FADEC damage, the line Thrust lever 1(2) idle didn't pop up since the ECAM wasn't fed with thrust lever position from the FADEC. I SUPPOSE the phenomenon you describe is on older gen Airbus.

Thank you for your reply. I thought it just came back up with "Thrust lever 1.....Idle" instead of removing it altogether. Interesting.

It used to happen when "Engine separation" exercise is inserted.
