Subpart K: JAR-OPS Classification of Flight Data Recorders (FDR)

Hi,
I'm looking for information regarding the JAR-OPS (Subpart K) classification of Flight Data Recorders (FDR) as Flight Data Recorders-1, -2 and -3. I suspect that this was based on the number of parameters recorded but would like to confirm this.

Also, how does this compare with the ICAO Annex 6 Part 1 classification, Types I and IA, Types II and IIA.

Thanks
