Dual Input

Was this ever an option before it became standard? Find it hard to believe.

Some Airbus aircraft have a feature which makes an announcement of "DUAL INPUT" when there is input on both sidesticks simultaneously. As of January 30, 1997, this was "an installation" (optional feature, I believe) on the A320 and under development for the A340.

When I started flying Airbus it did not call dual input, it was not even heard of.

It also didnt have managed CLB/DES, a proper FMA, TCAS, PWS, EGPWS, CPDLC, Satcom . . . . .
