ADS-B Out and Mode A/C XPDR

We were just unsure in a discussion: if you are flying with Mode-S Transponder 1090ES and ADS-B Out is wired and hot, will Mode A/C XPDR in the vicinity respond with firing?

Your ADS-B Out will have no effect on Mode A/C transponders in the vicinity.

Mode A/C transponders in the vicinity will reply only to the Mode C whisper/shout interrogations from your TCAS unit.
