NG TOGA termination
If I am right, selecting CMD after departure at 401' will give you MCP SPD and also also will give you Climb thrust. To have possibly reduced thrust ok at such a low height? Climb gradients etc.
Apologies now if I am mixed up?

You are confused, selecting CMD above 400 feet simply engages the Roll Mode, Thrust is not effected. At AA ( programmed in the FMC page) ARM will appear on the FMA and then depending on variant N1.

Easy there, de facto, calling simmers out can get you banned around here. Or at least get you a very stern warning. Mine was something to the effect "we really don't need the gratuitous antipathy".
