A320 lift weight C of G

A few years ago, I am sure I read that the lift position was slightly ahead of the C of G on Airbus meaning the tail plane was having to create a lift force and not a down force to fly level, adding to the total lift and thus saving fuel ? Been trying to find this info. Am I wrong ? Any thoughts
