Survival type ELTs
Anyone in the know???
Do handheld 406 ELTs have to be registered to a specific aircraft registration or can it be a fleet license ( perhaps the wrong term) to a specific operator, allowing it to be swapped among aircraft?
The manual infers not.

Our 406 beacons are registered to the organisation. We then sign out a jacket so that if a beacon is activated we know who has that beacon and what they were supposed to be doing. The important bit is for the rescue coordination centre knowing who to contact if the beacon is activated.
