A320 MCDU and RNP

Hi all,

The Airbus FCOM states the default RNP values are 2.0 ( enroute ) / 1.0 ( Terminal ) and 0.5 ( Approach ) however doesn't describe when the automatic transition occurs. From observation it seems enroute to terminal RNP value occurs at 50 NM from aerodrome reference point. However the transition from terminal to approach is a little variable? Anybody have any ideas how this logic is controlled?

Obviously we can manually set the RNP value anytime we like, however just interested in the timing of the automatic transition.

I think it actually comes from FMS database, i.e. your active leg / next WPT.
