navtech hold distance

Hi

Can someone shed some light

Many of the NAVTECH holding pattern LEGS are based on an outbound DME at a non collocated location thus It gets confusing when most FMC's only accept timing or leg distances. I understand the turn inbound can me made manually at the DME given but any ideas how to manage using the FMC when it only allows times or outbound distances?

Cheers

Why can't you simply set the leg distance to 7.8 (16.5 - 8.7) like in this example?

Your FMC should allow you to edit the Hold definition.
