A320 Fuel Pump Electrical Wiring

Underneath each wing close to the airframe are two long strip. I was told they are part of the electrical wiring for the fuel pumps. Could someone explain why would the wiring be running essentially outside of the aircraft. What is the technical term for those strips?

They are conduits containing the wiring for the fuel pumps . They run outside the tank for safety ( no power wires are permitted inside the fuel tank ) The skin is the outside of the fuel tank , so making a tunnel for the wires would affect the strength of the wing/ tank .

Thank you. Is there a technical term for these strips? I assume this might be regulation for manufacturer.
