B777 VNAV question

I'm guessing that those of you advocating the lighting on the bus must have come to the 777 from a big bus. I moved from the 777 to the small bus and frankly find the flight deck lighting appalling, so bad in fact that I now carry a battery book light in order to read the paperwork.
