laser Landing Lights

A new development in automotive headlights, using lasers. very small in size but with many times the output of conventional lights.

Could there be a use in aircraft landing lights.....could EMI from the lasers be a problem?

And I was so hoping to to be able zap the nitwits with laser pointers. Reading the explanations the laser zaps yellow phosphorus till it glows really bright. Yellow P is just impure White P which I would think might make fender benders really interesting.

You can't knock the energy saving gains, but if they're illuminating further down the road, as stated in the article, it could encourage some drivers to go faster thus increasing the risk of an accident, which is what brighter lights are supposed reduce.
