B737 non ETOPS operation
Many moons ago, the B737 had "grandfathers rights" to fly more than 60 minutes from a usable airport up to 90 minutes, as the rule used to be in the days before ETOPS (yes I know eons ago). Is this still the case and would it be both under EASA and FAA? I am sure someone here knows, there seem to be guys her knowing everything...

This is only conjecture as I really don't know. However even if the aircraft had the certification allowance to fly more than 60 minutes as a non-ETOPS sector, I can't possibly imagine that an XAA would allow an operator to do so. If it's not in the approved manual then you can't do it. But as I say that is only my gut feeling and have no documentation to back that up.
