B717s have a voice which tells you that the stab is moving continuously for more than a couple of seconds. Airbus don't seem too worried about stabiliser issues but the A330 has a rudder trim runaway checklist

That far away there was no ECAM to monitor systems. The precaution needed while horse riding is not needed when driving a car.

Vilas,
when you have a pitch trim issue it is the last time and place where you could read ECAM and check-lists! Had you already such a surprise as pilot? I had it two times (light aircraft and airliner, not in simulator) your eyes really can no more leave horizon 1/100 second until your pitch is recovered and stabilized. I had to push during more then 5 seconds so hard that I feared the airmchair would get broken. If you have a check-list it must be done by rote.
See the thread B737 crash Kazan ...

Which "people" are you referring to? Certainly, and with particular regard to Airbus, that's a very unlikely intention given that they've gone to the trouble and expense of installing manual trim controls, and - moreover - made those controls the absolute last line of defence if the flight control technology quits (re: MAN PITCH TRIM ONLY).

Given the Airbus FBW's somewhat unique automatic trim system, to do so would likely become a distraction and annoyance in itself. An aural warning if a certain threshold is exceeded might be a better idea, but usefulness would be limited.

Airbus FBW has no such trim issues so what happens in 737 has no bearing in A320.
