"Personally I guard the controls when ever I am getting ready to "fly" the aircraft."

I would hope you do so, because who will be flying the plane when the AP gets disconnected

Yes, but then " " meant even if the autopilot remains connected until 400'. I still "fly" the aircraft (and guard the controls) during the final part of the arrival and approach.

And no, I don't "fly" the aircraft during cruise. The autopilot flies, I monitor (and drink coffee).
