Statistical winds

For some research, I am looking for databases of statistical winds in altitude worldwide. Any idea of where I can find that?

I know our flight planning system has a database of them, do you have access to such software?

NOAA has a Graphical Turbulence Guidance (GTG) programme based on years of jet stream movement analysis for their DVSI and CAT forecasts. You may want to "google" NOAA for a global upper wind data base.

Try contacting Jeppesen, used to use worldwide planning with 50% and 85% statistical winds so, I think they have this.

For procedure design ICAO use 2h + 47kts, where h = height above ground (in 1,000's of feet)
so, @10000ft wind speed = (2x10) + 47 = 67kts

To FligthPathOBN, I am mainly interested in the possibility of getting statiscal winds on a route between two points on earth. So, likely the databases used by the flight planning software would work for me.

Boeing used to produce a manual, but they turned it into a software program, they should provide it to you if you are a Boeing customer.

Boeing sell access to the Boeing winds database and associated software. Around $1300 IIRC.

Hi there,
I've been using
Formulario para peticion de mensajes aeronauticos
and found it very useful with a little bit of wrestling. It does every significant airport worldwide since 2005, but only in chunks of up to about 30 days. If you want more than that, do a copy/paste into something else first and sort out the data overlaps by hand.
It is worth struggling with the website for about an hour to get the hang of it, because the data does all seem to be there in a very usable format.

I got a purchase request approval for the Boeing winds software for a customer not long ago and they gave up trying to get it after a few weeks playing ping pong with different people at Boeing.

I got a "commercial" offer from Boeing. About 8 times more than the number given by OceanCrosser above.

Still easy to get hold of, though the last edition was many years ago and the data may be invalid now that we have allegedly warmed the planet up a little.
