B737 NG Pack vs Pack trip off QRH

Hey guys
For the 800 it says:

A single pack light stays illuminated

Isolation Valve switch ....................CLOSE
Pack switch ( affected side)......... OFF

For the 700 it says:

A single Pack Trip Off light stays illuminated:

Continue normal operation

My quesion is why is it different?to my understanding on the 800 if you loose the Primary pack and the standby pack remp controller the Pack valve remains opened and you're able to continue to operate the pack(i don't know how?).Whereas on the 700 the pack valve close, but why on the 800 do you still need to close the Isolation valve and the Pack to OFF?if anyone out there could clarify this to me i'd appreciate.
Many thanks

Are the 2 checklist up to date? Not sure 100% but as far as I remember the -800 checklist about pack was modified few years ago.
