I have a Collins 251 comm - it developed a problem in that the electronic fourth digit does not move.
Taking it part the problem is a small plastic gear wheel that has lost a couple of teeth - the knob that sets the fifth digit turns the gear in question once every 360 degrees of rotation moving on the fourth digit.
The problem seems to have originated from fatigue - it's a good radio u/s for the want of the small gear.
Does anyone know where such a part can be sourced or have a old 251 which is otherwise u/s and would be willing to give up the gear wheel.
An obvious solution would be to buy a used 251 but shipping to get parts down here is very expensive, but just the part I need would be cost effective.
