RR Trent 556
Hi,
Just spoke to a fellow pilot flying an A340 equiped with RR Trent 556 and he says that they freqently use flex 70 at their home hub.
Is this even possible? Does anyone now the limitation regarding max flex allowed on this engine?
On our aircraft we are limited to max 55º flex temperature by manufacturer.
Regards,

Depends on Engine and authority. The types that I fly have the following limitation.
A345 Trent 553. Max flex is 74
A332 Trent 772 Max flex is 62
A343 Cfm 56-5C4 Max is 56 ( I think)

145qrh,
Thanks for the reply.
I was not aware that the Trent had so high max values regarding max permited flex temperature.
I've only operated the PW on the A332 and the CFM56-5C on the A343 and these are limited to a reduction of up to 25% max, limited to ISA+40º.
Wondering why so much diference.
