Air speed (EAS)

Just a short question?

If you climb at constant Equivalent Air speed (EAS) what happens to your TAS and Mach Number?

I think both TAS and MN increase. Is this correct.

Thank you

Smile EAS > Machno. > TAS

Hello Natasha with a name like mine!

Constant Rectified Airspeed (RAS) gives Increase in TAS and Machno in the Climb.

Constant TAS gives Increase in Machno and Decrease in Rectified Airspeed in the climb.

Ask yourself what is giving you EAS how did you come to your EAS? What did you do on your computor, your CRP 5, to get EAS?

So, when you have figured out how you found EAS and worked out compressibility and temperature rise and looked at CAS too - and, with the information above - you will find the answer to your question. ok? To get these just use your whizzwheel booklet that came with the computor.

Please read all of this as you almost have the answer to your question, plus a free lesson too - FREE!

EAS

Thank you for your answer.

I'm certain now that TAS and MN will increase.
