A320 Tcas Reset Proc

Hi,

Does anyone know why the reset for Tcas Computer are to be performed on ground only ( QRH computer resets tables ) ?

Why cant it be reset in the air? Many thanks.

Hi Neupielot,

There is a chance that false TCAS RAs will be generated after the reset - but before the transponder has acquired accurate Altitude information.

About transponder, can't seem to find a reset procedure in the QRH reset table.

Does anyone know if it ( transponder ) can be reset in the air ?

Was thinking if both transponder was not working properly but not failed. A reset possible in the air on the a320?
