Vampire Aircraft

Cardinal1, I think your friend was either "pulling your leg" or just plain ill-informed. The Vampire, in its various guises, had a long and productive career in many airforces around the world. To say it "killed more than it trained" is patently wrong. Almost 3300 were built and they were operated by over 30 countries.

Agree. Beautiful aircraft to fly and many RAAF pilots would have only had 240 hours total time in their log books before flying the single seat Vampire with no prior dual. I was one of them.
