Headset boom loose

After only limited use my beloved Sennheiser HMEC 45 lost the required friction in the hinge of the microphone boom. Vibration or turbulence causes the (rather heavy) microphone to move the boom downwards.

After having a look at the hinge I couldn't figure out a way to adjust for more friction, it doesn't seem to be build to be taken apart in any way.
The manual doesn't comment on this problem.

If anyone has some hints how to get the required friction into that joint I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
safelife

Find out how good or bad Sennheiser customer support is! Maybe they'll repair or replace? Like any aviation equipment manufacturer, they probably understand that how they respond to the problem may affect your decision making regarding future purchases. I suggest trying this before attempting to "fix" it yourself.

I was unable to find your model number with picture on their website, so I can't suggest a quick fix. Good luck.
