Circling approach not published at RCTP

RCTP,RWY 05 ILS approach chart stated that circling approach (MDA)minima not published and to NW of runway 06/24 only. While GNSS approach chart stated that circling approach not authorized. Other approach charts give circling minima. Question is if we want to make a circling approach and no minima published, what is our MDA? Thank you.

Where "circle to land" minimums box has NA, circling from THAT approach is Not Authorized. You cannot circle, you must request an approach that has circling mins published appropriate to you aircraft category. I must say a confusing airport, there are approaches to runways that do not exist on the 10-9 plate, like 5L.

Thank you sir, just wonder what difference between "not authorized" and "not published" Runway 05 ILS stated "not published" while 05 GNSS stated "not authorized".

Jeppesen has been known to incorrectly use the phrase "Not Applicable" when the aviation authority intended "Not Authorized." Whenever there are no circling minimums published you can't circle. In the case "Not Authorized Southeast of Runway 6-24" it means there is no circling MDA in that sector.

You cannot invent a circling MDA. But, you can do a visual or VFR circuit provided that ATC will honor your request. RCTP is a busy airport, so ATC may not let you do visual circuits when the weather is VFR.

KLAX, for example, used to have circling minimums, but they were removed many years ago for noise abatement and traffic flow because every runway has an ILS and RNAV approach procedure.
