CVR Test on A320:
The FCOM: 3.03.06 P2 states the following:
Could someone expand on the very first section, "An audio test signal and beep..." - can anyone provide a description (or recording!) of this vague "audio test signal"?
Thanks, GY
CVR Test .................................... Press And Maintain
An audio test signal and beep every 4 seconds should be heard through the loudspeakers. Once this is done, talk through the handmike, ensure your voice is head on the loudspeakers and only then release the CVR test pushbutton.

When you push the CVR TEST button you will get a continuous tone through the loadspeakers for a few seconds before it stops, you keep the CVR TEST button pressed and then it will start with a short beep every 4 seconds or so:
beeeeeeeeppppppppppppp --- 4seconds --- BEEP --- 4seconds ---- BEEP
and so it goes on. Even with the loadspeaker OFF you should still hear your own voice in between beeps when you transmit on the intercom through your handheld mic.
Sounds bloody complicated, but it ain't.
