TAKE OFF CONFIG PB

Who knows what happens if you forget to push it before takeoff?

It 's been a few years since I flew the A320, but I am certain it does not check the autobrake setting.

I'll try and find some proof...

OK, I don't have my manuals anymore, but found something on smartcockpit:

If the button is pushed, the following warnings can be generated:

Pitch Trim
Rudder Trim
Flaps not in TO config
Speed Brake not retracted
Slats not in TO config
L/R Sidestick fault
Doors
Flight Warning computer discrepancy
Brakes Hot
Eng 1/2 Oil low temp

page 42 in the online manual there

@slasher:

if the aircraft is configured right, nothing will happen, the line on the list will go green and off you go.
The same parameters are checked on throttle advancement as on pushing the config button, excpet for oil temp will not generate a warning, but park brake on will, as will Flex temp not set.

Yes Admiral that's what one would logically expect heh heh!

But don't forget we're talkin Airbus here....

I'll get RA to answer that one after he blasts off in the sim
with his "TO....one blue" on the ECAM memo.

Talking

hey Adm346..
u were also right about the added checks i forgot about them ie

L/R Sidestick fault
Doors
Flight Warning computer discrepancy
Brakes Hot

but the Brks Hot..sensing ..well it will make the fwc trigger a t/o warning but it can be ignored or emer cancelled ,um only thing is that the ecam t/o memo stays with --one blue ie the line "T.O. config------TEST" stays indicated it doesnt turn to "t.o. config---normal"...

actually forgive me if im wrong/missed nething out after all we all are here to learn and share our experience and little tech knowledge that we have some how remembered as the years have passed by on a give a/c type...

neways happy landings to all ...

How can you possibly claim to be a 320 FO if you don't know this?

TO CONFIG exists on ATRs too. Likewise, reacts with MASTER WARN if trim is not in green arc, PWR MGT SEL not in TO setting, and flaps not at 15 degrees. Checking it is part of the taxi checklist. (But then again, ATRs have quite a bit of Airbus technology in them...)

Cheers

SETO

Kinda late in this thread here, but out of curiosity, if the previous posters listed all the paremeters the TO CONFIG PB checks for, so it is perfectly safe to assume that in an Single Engine Taxi Out scenario, where the flight crew forgets to start the other engine, no warning will be given?

There wasn't an "engines running" parameter check in the list you mentioned.

Can someone confirm this, preferrably done in a real flight?

Autobrake MAX

Yes, it happened to me, I pressed TO Config before pressing the MAX Autobrake, and... nothing happen, no warning generated. MSN was 3xxx something.

Sorry could you elaborate on your comment regarding not setting a Flex Temp?

If none is entered (by mistake), the aircraft simply assumes TOGA takeoff, and you just click though one more on the thrust levers to TOGA.

From memory, the TO memo only appears 2 mins after the 2nd engine start. If you have only got one engine running, it ain't there.

Cheers
