logging type rating time?
Does anyone know the correct procedure for logging type rating sim time? Should it be p1/p2/picus? or does it really make any difference? who should be recorded as captain, especially since its 2 FO's flying together?

That may well depend on the regulations under which you're operating. that said, it's simulator time, and best occupies only that column in your logbook. It's not single engine, not multi engine, not PIC, not SIC, not even total time. Just simulator time.
In my own logbook, simulator time isn't included in any other total, and isn't logged under any category other than simulator. It's not flight time; you're not in flight.

It has no relevance.
It is not flying time by definition, so you cannot log it as such. It is training in a synthetic training device. The use of that device may be approved in defined quantity towards the issue of a licence or rating, but it is not logged as "flying time" in any event.
Usually there is a section at the back of a log book where the time spent in such devices can be recorded. Usually these devices are used for training purposes, but since there is no requirement (that I have ever been aware of) to designate a commander for the purpose of operating a simulator, so there is no requirement to log it.
As has already been said, you can annotate the excercise in whatever way you wish to, or seems most relevant, but it shouldn't be confused with the requirement to log flying time.

As previously mentioned it needs to be logged as simulator time/ground time in your logbook.
It can count towards unfreezing the ATPL, you are allowed to claim 100 hours sim time, maximum of 25 in FNPTII
