MD11 standby EDP

Hi, Does anybody know whether the engine driven hydraulic pump which is in standby mode, is continually running, or does it quickly turn on once it takes over from the inop EDP?

Thanks!

In the MD11 the standby mode and EDP do not fit together
I think you mean "armed".
If the EDP is armed, depressurization valve is energized but it is running continually.
