Sure, 28 inches for a mechanical altimeter, lower for electronic ones, 16 inches on a GLEX.

From: Between a rock and a hard place
At the flight school I was at the time, we had to suspend flying once when the pressure crept up to 1051 hPA - the altimeter only went to 1050.
