Palau CTAF...SAWRS?

I understand that there is a Supplementary Aviation Weather Reporting Station (SAWRS) at Palau, and that the CTAF is 123.6. This is consistent with an airport with a Flight Service Station on the field with no tower for US airports.

Does anyone have any experience with Palau concerning how this SAWRS compares with a FSS? Will they offer traffic advisories and IFR clearances?

Thanks

Can't help with current Palau radio situation but we flew into Koror airport (Palau) in 737-200's about 25 years ago. Frequent heavy showers over the airfield. In those days the overun at one end was a steep embankment.

If departing at night we were unpleasanly surprised to find out the airport authoity switched of the runway lights very shortly after we departed and the flight service operator went home. If we needed to come back we had no radio contact. It was a long way to Manila (our destination) if we couldn't return to Koror.
