Tc Atco Truce
It’s that time of year again when the TC Operational ATCOs undergo their TRUCE (Training for Unusual Circumstances and Emergencies). Once again, we are inviting pilots to attend and participate and pass on your knowledge and experience to us. The sessions are greatly enhanced by pilot participation and participants comment on the benefits this exchange of knowledge and experience brings. The sessions will run in the afternoon (1400 – 1900 approx hours) at our Corporate and Technical Centre, Whiteley, which is approximately 2 miles from Swanwick. There will be the opportunity to visit the TC Main Ops Room at Swanwick and hopefully sit in on live sectors after the simulations have ended. There will be a mileage allowance payable and a dinner in the restaurant. Due to security constraints, we are having to restrict visits to those who fly for commercial operations.

To be honest, with the level of ignorance of ATC shown by many commercial pilots posting on these forums, it should be mandatory to attend. Pity our unit doesn't organise something along the same lines. Unfortunately we're run by beancounting extremists!
