Anyone know at what stage does LNAV arm for Go around during the approach?

It doesn't arm itself. You have to do it - we do it above 400' AGL.

hmmm arms itself on ours during the approach. just never quite got when (or logic) it happens

Well even before LOC intercept ours display both VOR/LOC and LNAV in white below the active mode (which can also be LNAV!), its quite a mess - I'll pay attention to it next time to figure out when that happens...

all i could find

When a missed approach exists in the flight plan and the FCCs are capable of
entering go-around, LNAV arm will be annunciated on the FMA. The roll go-around track hold mode will automatically transition to LNAV during a missed approach.

still no idea when it comes up. i would guess "on final".
