Hi guys. Can anybody help me out with this question below as i find it tricky,i chose A and letter on B but both were wrong

6While the landing gear is being extended manually, the landing gear lever must be selected to

OFF and remain OFF after extension.
DOWN and remain DOWN after extension.
OFF and then selected to DOWN after extension.

Why do you find that 'tricky'? Have you looked at the QRH?

Hi

Answer C. The landing gear lever has to be selected to the 'OFF' position to move the landing gear selector valve into a position to prevent a hydraulic lock of the landing gear whilst under free-fall during the manual extension.

I'll have a stab.

In OFF position hyd pressure (or just fluid if no pressure) is ported to 'return' in both retract and extend hyd circuits. This would allow as much freedom as possible for manual extension.
After down and locked, select down cos that is where you want your wheels to be and stay.
It also inhibits any lights / warnings by not having the gear in position selected, ie normal config
