Jet Upset & jet engines

Hi guys,

What is jet upset and why do some jet aircraft have wing mounted engines and some have rear mounted.

It's for an interview. I already have some answers from ground school, but I'm
trying to find out if I've forgotten anything. I thought the tech section would be an ideal place.

Good gosh. I just Googled "wing mounted engines" on a lark, and found 343K "hits". One on the first page is:
