What is the best (and simplest) method of getting out of the "approach mode" in the B737-800?

There's allways that nice little button on the yoke, press it, fly it like you wish to and tell the other guy what FD modes or if you want the FD at all...

Oh, and those buttons on the thrust levers get you out of approach mode fast as well

AUTO FLIGHT
Sec. 6.4 Page 17

After VOR/LOC and G/S are both captured, the APP mode can be exited by:
· Pushing a TO/GA switch
· Disengaging A/P and turning off both F/D switches
· Retuning a VHF NAV receiver.

as mentioned above, swap the frequencies (simplest!) punching TOGA would be a lot more fun though, especially with the A/T armed!!

You want 'raw' modes on Fd on one side and ILS app mode on the other.Any options...
