AEG Generator J-79, disassembley
Can anyone help me out,
For training purposes we have three J-79 engines, prepared for simple tasks.
One of the tasks is removal and installation of the generator(s) but the problem is that one of the students dropped a generator during removal and the main axle of the gen is bent.
I tried to disassemble the gen but couldn't get the axle out.
Somebody got an idea?

Inasmuch as the generator make/model is dependent on the aircraft make/model, there is no single answer. If you tell us the dash number of the engine (-3, -7, -8, etc.) there may be a clue.

Probably a useless comment.
But since from your description that generator never needs to run again, have you considered some of the extremely crude solutions such as putting some sort of sleeve round the axle, then banging it back into shape with a sledgehammer?
If it was bent by dropping it, "same and opposite force" might render it "fit for use" again?
Since you're posting from the Netherlands, I presume they are F-104G engines, but I don't have the dash number.

The gen type is an AEG, 28B23-3, style B.
The GE J-79 is an 11A, built '64.
I put some force on the spline part of the axle, only the shear began to come in, so I stopped this action.
Does anyone know how to take the shear apart?
