BMI Callsign?

Most BMI call signs are Midland but lately there have been instances where the call sign in Lufthansa but the aircraft is BMI colors (and BMI pilot)
Can anyone shed some light on this?

LH charter 2 319's from bmi. They are in full bmi liverly and they are used on Berlin (TXL) and Milan routes from LHR.
The ac have LH seats and branding on the inside.
Its all bmi flight deck and cabin crew that operate those flights for LH.

I though Lufty owned bmi thereby negating the need to charter??

DLH own 80% of bmi. However bmi is run as a seperate entity.

For clarity Lufthansa is wet leasing one A319 (G-DBCB) to operate TXL - LHR 3 round trips per day. The aircraft is based in TXL.

Lufthansa Italia is wet leasing another A319 (G-DBCA) to operate LHR - MXP 3 round trips per day. This aircraft is based in LHR.

Both are operated in bmi colours with Lufthansa interiors by bmi crews as previously stated.

There is speculation that this wet lease agreement may be expanded over the winter.

Just one question:

Tail-take-off, it's the other way around; CA does the Milans and CB the Berlins.

As for the bmi callsign, could I just remind our bmi friends that your callsign is "Midland" and not "The Midland" or "British Midland" both of which I regularly hear in the London Area.
