Swissair Navigator computer

Does anyone out there have a manual for operating the old manual "Swissair Navigator" computer? I found one on the web and now it is in my hands, but no manual.

Any help is appreciated.

Isn't it just another flight computer? They all work about the same.

It's a very special whizz wheel, calibrated to Geneva Mean Time with a serrated edge for cutting blocks of Toblerone.

The item is relatively cheap to buy but because it is considered a precision instrument servicing is essential every 2000Nms and this can only be carried out by a approved service centre and costs an arm and a Toblerone.

Gee, just the other day I was trying to work a pressure pattern navigation problem on the ProLine 21 kit in the Global Express. Couldn't get it done, so I want one, too.

You tie it to your glasses, leaving both hands free for maneuvering Toblerone

Interesting.
What type of HRRA were you using?
To do it right, you gotta have one of those.

Maybe that's why ProLine 21 couldn't do it.

Which is necessary for pressure pattern flying, Nice catch, 411A But, funny, when they re-equipped the C-5's rad alt in early 90s, it was a HRRA. Interesting on a crossing and bored to watch absolute altitude change with pressure patterns.

Hi Mick, I've just discovered my late father's Swissair Navigator, it has it's original leather case, but no instructions, which is very unusual for my dad, he used to have a whole drawer unit of instructions and guarantees for every single thing he ever bought! lol. Anyway, I've been searching everywhere for some info about it and came across your post, I was wondering if it would be possible to do me a copy as well? Not sure if you can send it through the forum or if you need my email?
My father used to fly in the 1950s from Bradford Airport in Yorkshire, he was also fascinated with bus timetables and services- he later started a small coach company, evidently if he got lost when flying, he would look for the nearest bus, and would know immediately from the colour, which service it was, where it operated, and so where he was!
Anyway, all the best, Matthew.
