Laptop Power

Not sure whether this should be in the Computer section at the bottom of the page or SLF or here!!!

I noticed while deadheading yesterday on a 777 that a couple of pax plugged their laptops directly into the laptop power socket in their seats. They did not go via a TeleAdapt adaptor - it was a direct connection.

What is the power supply out of these seat sockets and where does one get the direct connection cable? (Have tried Googling but keep coming up with adaptors and 12v car adaptors)

Many companies have equipped their busines seats with standard AC plugs.
In the bus there is a switch on overhead panel to deactivate power to that plugs.
