Red Bull DC-6B

Any one know if this beautifully restored DC-6B has a full FAA clearance for passenger service?

That's how a restored/converted B377 should be looking like at airshows.

Well, it has a standard airworthness certificate but I don't think it's operating on a 121 certificate so I'd say no.

Lets face facts here.
The DC-6B airplane was absolutely the most reliable and economic 4-engine piston-powered passenger airplane ever produced.

The Stratocruiser?
Yeah, I've flown the beast, and although it was a very long range and comfortable airplane, its reliability, in service, was...awful.
My God, it used more oil than a DC-7, gobbled up fuel like there was no tomorrow, suffered multiple GeneralElectric turbosupercharger failures than you can count, was an electrical nightmare, and leaked like a seive, cabin pressure-wise.
Other than that...it was OK.
