AD issued on 31-12-2008 with 14 days to complete.

Is this an "Oh my G@D it will cost a fortune" AD or is it "Just another engine check"
Book says A318,319,320,and 321 may be affected.

The applicable simple answer to your question is contained in the AD
i.e.
Typically it's initally an inspection cost and all large operators have a pretty good handle on this.
In some cases operators may have left their engines on wing too long to pass the initial evaluation and if so it's catch up time on their cost management ouija boards
i.e.
