A300-600R ILS Approach Technique

Hi All,

I am a new comer to A300-600R.
Airbus procedure for A300-600 Standard ILS approach states that the glideslope is intercepted with Slats extended and flown at 'S' Speed, and at 2000'AAL, select Flap 20, set the Vapp then LG Down and subsequently Flaps 40. That is to say that flaps 15 selection is bypassed.

The Issue:
I have been given a hard time by my arrogant Chief Pilot for doing that as Standard ILS approach (for the record our SOP follows airbus' and updated whenever Airbus update theirs), he argues that in tailwind condition it will be hard to get the speed down-which is actually not-. And if I was to do that procedure I should announce to my FO that I am doing a "Decelerated Approach".
I kindly seek opinions form A300-600 drivers, how do you do your everyday ILS approach.

Thanks in Advance
SS

Our SOP are 3.000' S/F 15/15 on GS. Gear down/F20 and F40 to get established not later then 1.000' AGL.

Slats only on GS doesn't work on most airports cause that may be too fast and yes with a little tailwind and heavy it may not work at all.

Kind regards
