Smiths Flight Management System FMS

Can anyone help me please? If an aircraft is fitted with a Smiths FMS, and flight plans are produced by PPS Air Support, will I be able to upload computer flight plans into the FMS via a datalink

Currently, the aircraft in question uses the services of Universal and their UVAtriplink but the owner wants to avoid using them from here on.

Tapping in on your vast knowledge, does anyone know how uploading of computer flight plans works and if we can actually get our PPS plans to upload to a Smiths FMS ?

I might be missing something simple in the understanding of this so any advice or help you can offer will be much appreciated.
