DFDR

I have a question for A330/340 engineers

An incident occurred in my company and when they retrieved the DFDR, they found that it was deleted!
Can the DFDR be deleted on airbus 330/340?
I know the voice recorder can be deleted on ground , engines off, ground power connected and parking brakes on, but I didn’t know that aircraft manufacturers would allow flight crews to delete DFDR at any stage.
Can someone please shed some light on this matter.
Thanx

Not an Airbus man .. but the story will involve a failure of the system, not crew erasure. .. ie the record was either absent or corrupt, rather than deleted. Not at all uncommon as most operators don't routinely extract data from the DFDR .. those who do pick up this sort of problem and can fix it. So for example, I have one hull which has some spurious DFDR problems ... will take some time to sort it out but it will get fixed in due course.
