A/C performance literature

Anyone willing to point me in the direction of some good aircraft performance books; preferably something that goes a bit deeper than the basic atpl books around.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks.

(a) one of the most useful is the Boeing PE's training manual if you can track down a copy

(b) if you know any TPs, try getting copies of some of their school notes

(c) try an internet search - plenty of hits to choose from ..

(d) I like Mair and Birdsall, Miele, Von Mises, Perkins and Hage .. all useful

(e) if you don't like a touch of maths, though, bypass (d) and stick with Hurt (USN textbook with which most pilots are familiar)

books I know to be good

“Fundamentals of Flight” by Richard Shevell
“Aircraft Performance” by Austyn Mair and David Birdsall
"Gas Turbine Performance by Philip Walsh and Paul Fletcher

For underlying principles
“Engineering Thermodynamics: Work and Heat Transfer” by Rogers and Mayhew
“Electrical Technology” by Hughes
“A Practical Introduction to Electronic Circuits” by Martin Hartley Jones
Schaum's Outline Series on .... such as algebra, calculus, laplace transforms

I do not recommend Barnes McCormick, Jack Mattingly, Tom Benson. I do not like works where the messenger and the presentation become more important than the message nor works where elaborate procedures and page after page of scribbles produce results so wide of the mark.
