Australian Cat Speeds for Approach

Gents,

The Australian 'final approach fix' for an ILS is defined as coincedental to that of the LLZ maltese cross on the Jepp chart, thus, usually around 5nm.

Further, the Cat D speeds are 250 - 185 Initial, 185 - 130 Final ( ICAO, fair enough )

For the B773ER. the Final flap limit speed ( 30 ) is 180kts.
The Company and Mr Boeing's standard profile is, of course to select final flap at G/S intercept.

Here's my concern.....if G/S intercept begins at 10nm, from 3000'...how can we be complient with our speeds for the remainder of ite Initial approach, until Final segment starts at 5nm?

Am I missing something here? ( The Aussies have decided to depart from ICAO for some reason, and my aircraft doesn't fit their formula, as far as I can see)

Any help you fellas can offer would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Aus AIP allows you to reduce speed before the FAF. I know 5 miles might be stretching the friendship but if that is how your company flys it will just have to be good enough.

Note 2: Speed reduction below the initial segment speed
range is permitted to enable the final approach speed to be
achieved prior to the commencement of the final segment.
