A340 APU Generator Burst

A340 OEB 085/1 involves an APU Generator Burst. What exactly is this and what causes it?

A new protective end piece has been designed to contain the failure case if it happens. The design has passed the first failure test and a second is planned. The retrofit program will start after that and will be free of charge according to Airbus. This will lift the precautionary restrictions on APU's use during take-off as detailed in the OEB.

Lifting of that restriction will be great. I prefer a APU ON T/O as opposed to a PACKS OFF T/O. Less effort.
